Olympia is the city's Greek sanctuary — ferry in, walk the marble. Male gods keep precincts here. Pour at the altar, sit the oracle, wrestle on the palaestra dust. Nudity in the training yard is posted law. You are a visitor. You do not enlist.

Nudity in the training yard

The palaestra requires nudity in the training yard. This is not a suggestion. It is a municipal regulation. Men entering the yard to train are expected bare or in the single permitted garment for their event. The regulation is posted because it is often misread as a request.

Gods in precinct

Altar, oracle, and grove are open to adult men. Pour, ask, or walk the trees. The gods here are men; their land is land you can stand on. Leave on the posted word. No child heroes. No youth-beloved myths.

Coach authority

Every coach on the palaestra is a senior municipal officer with an even face. What a coach orders on the court is enforced as posted. A coach may call a white flag on any session. That call ends the session.

Exhibition sand bout

On posted exhibition days the island opens a sand sheet for Ferrum & Flesh: weigh-in, oil, three exchanges, audience pot. Entry is a clerk stamp and a fixed fee. This is not enlistment and not a death show. Sign the sheet at Sand bout when the day board lists it.

Oil stall

A municipal oil stall sits by the palaestra for scrape-kit and exhibition oil. Contract talk stays off the court — soft whispers on the dry benches only.
