Ball plow field

The field rule is old and does not care how it sounds on paper. A padded yoke sits on both balls—or the root base—and the rope runs to a small plow. You walk. The furrow opens. Dirt drag pulls the sack with every step.

The foreman watches the row. Crooked furrows mean you haul again. Light steps that spare the bag do not count as a completed pass.

Ranch talk: oxen use shoulders. Men use the bag. Straight furrows earn the bonus coin.
