Cellblock gallery
A long iron hall. Cages in a row. Temporary brands and washable numbers on chests. Some men stand display shift. Some cages are empty with placards for atmosphere. Your badge lets you walk the painted line on the floor—not into the locks.
Hands stay outside the bars unless a yellow wall chart says TOUCH OK for that cage and that hour. Guards sell the joke of inspection. They do not sell your enlistment.
What you see
Single cells, linked runs where men can see each other, and a few glass display cages for VIP tickets. No-shoot orders posted in paint. Edge lights for patrol comedy. The air smells like metal and soap.
What you do not do on a visit pass
You do not get a number. You do not sleep in a bunk. You do not ride the labor cage to a full foundry shift unless you bought the separate overlook ticket at the shaft.
